Day 10 :)

Something you are afraid of... well this is easy... GUNS!!

I know this is really weird seeing how I go hunting with Joey all the time, but I used to be terrified of guns!

I used to love hunting and I would always go shooting when I was younger, I took hunter safety in middle school. but when I got a boyfriend, he was a prefectionist, and I didn't want to look like an idiot in front of him, so i just started saying  I was afraid of guns, and well over time it  became true.

When I met Joey I never knew how much he would like shooting, and he has been very patient with me and has let me get over this at my own pace.   I have shot his big guns, but i  I am taking baby steps and hopefully one day I will be able to actually hunt with him..   But for now I will stick to the 22.

The weekend :)

This weekend was so much fun.  I love getting to go to Nephi, and spending time with Joey. When I am with him it feels like nothing else in the world matters. I love that I can talk to him about anything and everything,  and that he understands and doesn't judge. He is probably  the only person in the world (besides my mommy) that I can spill my guts to.   I love that we have the little nicknames, and traditions that make our relationship special. 
 One of those traditions is  roasting starbursts :) we always go have a bon fire and talk about everything and roast starbursts... ( to those of you that have never done it, try it.. I promise you will not be disappointed)

 I really have  the worlds best friend and best fiance.  on Saturday we were going to go to the dunes and meet up with a friend of mine, but they ended up going home early.  So I mentioned a little wedding shopping, I really didn't have much to buy, but it was something to do. So Joey went with me, he was so patient as I walked through all the craft stores ( and didnt even complain). He has been so understanding through this whole thing and has asked many times what he can do to help. 

 on Sunday we had to help his friend Jake round up all the cows that had gotten out, it was my first horse ride of the summer, and well  I am super sore, but it was so much fun. It fun to spend time with Joey doing something he really loves.  The only thing that would be better is if I could learn how to rope, ha  he has been telling me for a long time that he will teach me, but so far it hasn't happened, maybe after we get married :)

 These 5, I know these guys aren't officially my nieces and nephews yet, but I love them lots :) It has been so much fun to watch them grow up, and hopefully they still like Dojey and Riyah when they are older. I can still remember when Maddi and Kaylee were  scared of  me, and would hide when I was around. Now they are my Bestest  Friends :) They are so much fun, and just seeing how innocent, loving, caring and full of life they are makes me so happy :)

3. As  I was leaving to come back to college last night, My mom cried. It is heart breaking, but at the same time I love it. I know she still loves me so so so much, and she is not like one of those parents who just ship their kids off, and don't really care any more. So with the wedding and everything coming up, which I know is another thing that makes her sad,  Mamma's Song by Carrie Underwood  is the best

4. Well I am driving my moms truck for the next two weeks, because it is easier to move with that, and partially because It is easier for me to get it fixed. ( my brother accidentally broke the window out).. so with that I swear that there is always something going wrong, just like my computer breaking for the nine millionth time it feels like.  I heard one day in church, that god does give you things you can't handle, and ever since then I have swore by that. It was also repeated at the  last general conference, it wasn't a main topic of the speech, but sometimes the little things are the more important ones.  Miley Cyrus -  The Climb

 Dad: Rex Thomas Griffiths, Born in Salt Lake City to Tom Griffiths and Norma Dean Forsyth. He Has a younger sister, Lora. A younger half brother Robin, and a younger half sister, Teresa.  He has worked as a logger, drove truck, and currently works for Wayne County. He is the chief of Teasdale Fire Department.

Mom: Carolyn Orlynn Jones Griffiths, Born in Delta Colorado, to Robert Jones and Barbara Nutter. She has one older sister, Carrie. She has worked at Royals Food Town, in the bakery for as long as I can remember. She  loves animals, and did rodeo when she was younger, she had every animal you could imagine as a child.

My first love....
 Well this would be Jesse King, we dated for almost two years.. But I was young, we fought a lot, and it just wasn't right. He is now getting married this June.
I feel that people come in and out of your life to help you and teach you things, and make you better people. I don't regret loving him he tought me many things about what I do and don't want in a relationship, it just happened that he wasn't the one.  I know have the love of my life, and he is everything I could ever want and more. Joey is sweet, tender, caring, happy, funny, loving and greatest of all, he is all mine :)

Meaning behind my blog name.

 Mariyah & Joey, is of course me and the future hubby. :) I started the blog to Journal about things that happen as we live, laugh, and love our way through life. To tell about all the things we encounter as we plan a wedding and become newlyweds, to share the joys, and hard times of school, family, work and hopefully someday kids.

Heart Felt & Hard to Handle

Yesterday my roommate Ash shared a blog that she had came across with me, She warned me that I would cry, BUT I never thought that It would make me re -think about how I deal with Joey, and how much I really care for him.
  The blog is about a lady who is 26, her 28 year old husband was just killed in paragliding accident. They have a four year old little girl. In the blog you can tell without a doubt that this woman is so madly in love with her husband, and now her world is completely crushed. I literally cried so hard when I read about how see still waits for his truck to pull into the driveway, and how their daughter had her first dance recital and he was not there to watch. But as she was trying to deal with her grief and pain by writing, she also helped me, by telling how in love she was you could see how sad she was, you could also tell how highly she though of her husband, how she loved to let him do  the things that he loved.

I was mad at Joey yesterday for going on the desert with a friend, as I read this I could tell that I was being selfish, and that I needed to let him have fun. I also had a great urge to tell him how highly I thought of him, I know he knows I love him but does he know that the kisses on the forehead still give me butterflies. That he is the only person that can make me laugh when I want to cry or how he makes me feel so comfortable and so loved,  well he does now. Reading this blog made me realize that I need to not get so mad over the dumb stuff and enjoy everything else a little more.   It made me wonder what if that had happened to me... I know that I would  be completely crushed, I know that Joey is the only one for me, that he is the one that I am supposed to spend for ever with.  The one that I can  be my true self around.  So Thank you Joey for putting up with my stubborn-ness, and for always being there for me, for all the great, and few not so great times that have made me fall in love with you many times over. I LOVE YOU :)

April..

Well I know I am a little late at this but April has so much going on,

April 1st- of course the wonderful April Fools day, and Connor's birthday.

    It was so fun to see how excited to open and enjoy his presents. He has now entered his terrible two stage- but at least he is cute at being terrible :)

April 2nd- My roommate Ashley Wheeler's Birthday, she is going to see George Strait, and I must say that she has been on cloud nine since she found out he was coming to Utah on her birthday. ( and I must say that I am excited to have her not ask what to wear every day... JK i love ya ash)

April 3rd- Travis's Birthday, and my brother Rafe's Birthday-  It seems like just yesterday that Rafe and I were chillin' in the play pen together. I love this kid and it's hard to believe that he will be 17 tomorrow. I can still remember the days when I could win, when we would wrestle, and if I wasn't I would yell for dad and he would get in trouble. Or the time that he hit me with the blind twister because I told him and Kasidy to be nice to the dog. We may have had our fights as kids, but I know that he will be there for me no matter what. He is the most protective little brother I know. 

April 22- My Mom's Birthday- I love my mom so much, she is honestly one of my best friends,  she has been the best mom ever and has taught me so much.  I know that I would not be where I am today if it was not for her love , and her support. She has been one of the people that has pushed me the most to do my best and become a great person. She is the person I call just to vent, or to tell exciting news, she was the first person to know I was engaged and laughed because she knew I was so excited. She is the person that has taught me that I can do anything I set my sights on, and listens to me every day when I want to switch my major, or told me I could do it when I called bawling my second day of college saying I wanted to come home. She is the most selfless person I know, and makes sure that us kids have everything that we need or want before she ever does anything for her. I hope one day I can be half the person she is .  I  LOVE YOU MOM :)

April 24- EASTER :) awww I love Easter, coloring eggs is one of my favorite things, Easter egg hunts and of course PEEPS :)

April 29- Last Day of Finals- to many this may not seem like much but to me, it means I have survived my second year of college. Sometimes it is hard to grasp that I have made it this far. 

 I can not believe that it is already April, that means it is almost summer :) which means horse rides, boating, the Stampede,  my birthday :), the Wayne County Fair, Joey's Birthday :), and finally OUR WEDDING :)
